Questex Unveils QBusiness Continuity Center

Turnkey Portal Ensures Business Event and Communications through Interruptions

NEW YORK, Feb. 14, 2020 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Business continuity planning is an imperative business practice for organizations. Business interruptions are difficult – whether they are related to travel disruptions, pandemic viruses (like the Coronavirus), supply chain issues or key employee announcements – and communications are imperative. Questex today unveils a digital platform specifically for business continuity – the QBusiness Continuity Center ensures business communications through business interruptions.

“Business interruptions are challenging for any organization. It’s vital for companies to have a plan in place that guarantees business continuity,” said Paul Miller, CEO of Questex. “The QBusiness Continuity Center provides companies with an online solution that can be used in the event of a business interruption that limits attendees from participating at a live event or to bring a company or a group of individuals within a company together quickly and efficiently. Although not a replacement for live events QBusiness Continuity can help bridge a critical gap.”

Businesses have embraced digital business solutions as effective communication tools for their audience experience, to improve communications and gain a competitive advantage. The QBusiness Continuity Center is a turnkey virtual communications portal that enables businesses to deliver critical communications in a secure, interactive environment. The QBusiness Continuity Center can be functional for any organization to connect and communicate in just days.

Components of the QBusiness Continuity Center include:

  • Webcast, conference capabilities
  • Auditorium with optional group chat and a complete list of upcoming and available presentations
  • Resource Library that hosts relevant materials such as presentation slides and supplemental material all in one location
  • Group chat, one-to-one chats, surveys and polls

The QBusiness Continuity Center offers scale for an organization of any size and complexity and can be created for both large and small events. The platform is easy to use and does not require a download – all audiences are able to access the platform through a web browser and the Internet. Access is security-controlled, ensuring that only registered attendees are able to participate.

“Questex’s Technology, Media, and Telecom group is excited to quickly take advantage of this new platform by launching 5G BLITZ Week for our FierceWireless community during the week of March 23,” Kevin Gray, Vice President of Questex’s Technology, Media, and Telecom commented. “As a part of this, we’ll be putting together a multitude of virtual panels, fireside chats, and interviews throughout the week, all complemented with special reports on 5G across our industry leading sites. At such a critical time in the development of next generation wireless networks, it’s imperative that our community is able to access additional education from industry leaders in the unfortunate coronavirus enforced absence of Mobile World Congress this year.”

FDA, Pfizer, Celgene, UBC and Others Discussed New Innovations in Risk Management Operations at Questex’s 12th REMS Summit

NEW YORK, Jan. 30, 2020 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Last week Questex’s 12th Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategies (REMS) Summit provided a platform for over 100 attendees to share best practices over the course of two days on how to design, develop, implement and evaluate REMS. The event took place January 21-22 at the Key Bridge Marriott in Arlington, VA.

Regulatory leaders from the FDA, Pfizer, UBC, NOVARTIS, REGENERON, CELGENE, and other life science and regulatory organizations addressed major challenges and had a chance to network, discuss, and learn:

  • How E-prescribing can cause a REMS issue and how to mitigate this issue
  • The FDA’s new benefit/risk counseling guidelines and how it affects REMS
  • Developing application of REMS technology for ease of access
  • FDA’s part in reducing the burden of REMS and developing evaluation methods

And so much more.

This year’s Summit featured 18 speakers, including Gita Toyserkani, Regulatory Health Policy Analyst, and Linda Huynh, ORISE Fellow, both from the FDA who presented, A Standardized Approach to REMS Using Implementation Science and How an evidence-based practice (EBP) can be advantageous to promote the use of an effective REMS program that is best modeled for your product and walked the audience through the ways to apply best practices to streamline REMS approval.

Marc Morris, Vice President, Safety and Pharmacovigilance from Apellis Pharmaceuticals discussed Planning for a First REMS in a Clinical-Stage Medium-Size Enterprise and How a lack of Established Policies and Procedures Can Greatly Reduce the Effectiveness of a REMS Program.

Click here for a full list of the 12th REMS Summit speakers.

“UBC was pleased to be a corporate sponsor and co-chair of the 12th REMS Summit in Arlington, VA. Each year, this conference is a mainstay where REMS experts from industry, academia and the FDA gather to share insights and discuss solutions for ensuring patient safety and maintaining the benefit/risk profile of biopharmaceutical products. There are always new and provocative topics presented, as well as updates on technology and strategies for REMS evaluation. We look forward to participating in the 13th Summit in 2021,” said Annette Stemhagen, DrPH, FISPE, Senior Vice President, Chief Science Officer, Safety, Epidemiology, Registries & Risk Management, UBC.

“Excellent event. Relevant and valuable discussions, and a great opportunity to connect with many REMS leaders,” added Kal Elhoregy, Director, Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS) Programs, Regulatory Affairs Clinical, Amneal Pharmaceuticals.

“At this year’s REMS Summit our attendees learned the necessary elements that need to be included in REMS for their product, as well as details required for submission. Our adept speaking faculty armed delegates with proven strategies to facilitate benefit-risk counseling, optimize REMS operations through streamlined health system integration, leverage interoperable technologies for consistent communication, and increase patient safety through cross-functional collaboration,” said Greg Khemai, Senior Conference Director, ExL Events, a division of Questex.

Questex Expands its Experience Economy Mission with Live Design International Investments

NEW YORK, Jan. 16, 2020 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Questex is expanding its focus on the Experience Economy with a series of investments aligned with Live Design International (LDI), the premiere design and technology event for the lighting, audio, staging and video/projection category, including promotions, new appointments and enhanced conference programming at the annual event.

Key promotions and appointments this week include Marian Sandberg who moves into the Market Leader role, Jessi Cybulski who assumes the role of Show Director and Kye Browning who joins the team as Content Director.  These investments follow a record setting year for the 2019 Live Design International event in square footage, sponsorship programming and event attendance.

“Marian, Jessi and Kye share the passion, dedication, intelligence and work ethic that represent the foundation of the Live Design International brand in every way that we engage with the market,” said John Siefert, Group President at Questex.  “Their leadership is defining a new era that harnesses the amazing legacy of the event and media brand while they embrace an integrated future that makes Live Design International the gathering point for event producers and designers across the spectrum of lighting, stage, audio/video production and broadcast.”

Other enhancements to the event include a new conference program for XLIVE, consisting of two unique tracks serving event producers that scale from large festivals and sporting events to concerts and user/customer corporate events.

“With Kye leading our expanded conference programming for event producers, Live Design International cements its position as serving both ends of the live event experience, from the strategic front end of defining guest and attendee experience to the execution of making that vision a reality with staging, lighting, audio/video production and more.”

Finally, the company also announced that it will continue to serve the faith and worship market through conference and expo hall experiences at the Live Design International event. However, it will not host a separate show or a specific section of the expo floor to this segment.

“Through the process of defining our 2020 vision,” Siefert continued, “we have defined the seven pillars of the Live Design International event and media brand through analyzing our attendee, exhibitor and sponsor data.  This will create the framework for each element of our conference program at the event and our content programming through our year-round livedesignonline.com website.”
