Questex Postpones World Tea Conference + Expo 2020 Amid COVID-19 Epidemic

Event Rescheduled for October 15-18, 2020, in Denver, Colorado

NEW YORK, March 20, 2020 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Questex, the parent company of World Tea Conference + Expo, today announced it has been forced to postpone the event due to the COVID-19 epidemic. Originally scheduled to run June 8-11, 2020, World Tea Conference + Expo has been rescheduled to October 15-18, 2020, at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, Colorado.

“We are facing an unprecedented health situation,” said Paul Miller, CEO of World Tea Conference + Expo parent company, Questex. “The Federal government has asked that no more than 10 people gather in one place due to COVID-19, and the Governor of Colorado has recommended the cancellation of all public gatherings of more than 250 people. Due to the COVID-19 circumstances, we are forced to postpone World Tea Conference + Expo. We recognize the impact that the postponement has on the tea community. Our exhibitors, sponsors and speakers put in an enormous amount of work preparing for the event. This will be the first time in 18 years the event has been forced to postpone. However, the health and safety of the tea community, and the broader community, is vitally important and it makes the event postponement unavoidable.”

For 18 years, World Tea Conference + Expo has been the hub for tea industry professionals to come together with their passion of tea to learn, grow their businesses, and network with their peers, while building lasting partnerships and friendships. The event features more than 200 exhibits and hundreds of new tea products, 50+ educational sessions and workshops, 65 speakers and an industry awards ceremony. Several thousand professionals and businesses from the international tea and beverage industry will attend, including buyers and decision makers from restaurants and bars, foodservice, retail, grocery, hotels, spas, and tea and coffeehouses, among others.

Featured Keynotes Include NASA Scientist and Boeing Case Study at Questex’s 2020 Sensors Expo & Conference and Embedded Technologies Expo & Conference

Presentations to highlight the critical role of sensing technology in deep space exploration and how organizations can build safer systems

FRAMINGHAM, Mass., March 12, 2020 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Questex today unveiled keynote speakers for the 2020 Sensors Expo & Conference (#Sensors20) and Embedded Technologies Expo & Conference (#EmbTech20) events. Featuring Dr. Kathleen Gallagher Boggs, Exploration Capabilities Development Team Lead for NASA, and Gregory Travis, Managing Director, Supporwell LLC, this year’s presentations will highlight the critical role of sensing technology in extending the opportunities for deep space exploration and the software development approaches that today’s organizations can use to build safer systems. The two insightful keynotes will kickstart the 2020 events, giving attendees a unique opportunity to learn more about today’s applications and future trends and discover new approaches to evergreen challenges. To view the 2020 Sensors Expo & Conference schedule, please visit HERE.  To view the 2020 Embedded Technologies Expo & Conference schedule, please visit HERE.

Keynote sessions include:

From airplanes and automobiles to the latest electronic devices and wearable technology, software is an increasingly important part of most products today, delivering gains in flexibility, speed-to-market, cost advantages, and features that would not be achievable in hardware alone. In fact, at the core of it many modern systems are really just networks of computers and software. But along with the exponential growth in software code has come added complexity and risk that can be difficult to manage in even some of the seemingly simplest of systems. Using the example of what went wrong with the Boeing 737 MAX, this keynote examines the engineering, cultural, systems design and software development approaches that can lead to negative outcomes and what today’s organizations can do to build safer systems.

This keynote presentation discusses NASA’s current exploration plans and the challenges associated with human voyages to the Moon and Mars. It describes key human spaceflight capabilities that must be advanced to enable NASA’s exploration goals, including sensors and avionics that can survive extreme environments, systems that enable crew and vehicle autonomy, and highly reliable environmental monitoring systems that require minimal maintenance. The keynote presentation will also address the importance and application of these capabilities to deep space human spaceflight, and the activities required to advance critical exploration capabilities, the means of demonstrating system performance, and implementation planning, including selection of flight test location based upon the unique environments and characteristics of the International Space Station, exploration-class vehicles, and lunar surface habitats.

Questex Cancels The Beauty Experience NY (IBS NY) and International Esthetician, Cosmetic and Spa Conference (IECSC) Events Amid COVID-19 Concerns

Follows New York Declaring a State of Emergency

NEW YORK, March 07, 2020 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Questex, the parent company of The Beauty Experience (IBS NY) and the International Esthetician, Cosmetic and Spa Conference (IECSC), today announces the two events will be cancelled based on COVID-19 concerns. Questex is seeking alternative dates for its beauty and wellness community to come together.

The two shows, slated to co-locate at the Javits Convention Center in New York March 8-10, draw tens of thousands of people each and every year. They also attract the largest manufacturers and suppliers to the professional beauty, barber, spa, skincare, nails and makeup/cosmetic markets.

Earlier today, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo declared state of emergency as the number of Coronaviruses surge. “There’s no doubt that massive quarantine is the best way to slow the spread,” Cuomo said. New York joins multiple states that have declared emergencies over the coronavirus, including Maryland, California and Utah. The emergency declaration allows for more resources to go to local health departments responsible for monitoring those under quarantine, among other efforts, Cuomo said.

“With new reports of COVID-19 cases in New York and the state of emergency announced by Governor Cuomo, our decision to cancel both The Beauty Experience (IBS NY) and the International Esthetician, Cosmetic and Spa Conference (IECSC) was a difficult decision,” said Paul Miller, CEO of Questex. “We are facing an unprecedented health situation. There is no greater importance than the health and safety of our community members and that will always be the guiding principle that drives. We want to thank the beauty and wellness industry for their support of the events. It is these organizations and people that enable us to bring our community together to buy and sell spa, esthetics, cosmetic, salon, barber and other beauty products that drive our industry.”

Questex will be introducing a digital solution, which will feature many of the educators, speakers and exhibitors from both of the events, to help keep buyers and sellers connected in the industry during this challenging time.
