We are thrilled to have doubled onsite attendance from 2021, and we were excited to see over 50% new attendees from exciting companies such as 3M, Airbus, Amazon, Apple, Ford, Meta, Rivian, Shell, Sony, Waymo, and more. Networking in-person allowed attendees to catch up with colleagues and make new contacts.

Here’s what attendees and exhibitors had to say about the Sensors Converge.

“Our team members really enjoyed the showcase, the interactions with other robotics teams, as well as the conversations with professional engineers at the Expo. I believe that this event has planted a seed in their mind to be scientists and engineers in the future,” said Yiliang Wu, Ph.D., Sr. Principal Scientist/Manager, Corporate Technology Center.

“I found it really well organized and spent a lot of time talking to booth exhibitors since as a hardware product maker the attendees were exactly who I wanted to talk to,” said Kevin Hsu, CTO and Co-founder, Tellus.

“After a 2-year hiatus from in-person shows, we were concerned about the quality of trade shows as things begin to resume. Exhibiting is a major expense for small businesses like ours, but we decided to make the investment. The attendees were decision makers looking for solutions. We were able to meet and have conversations with the right people for our business, and came away with several high quality opportunities. Sensors Converge was a very worthwhile investment for us. It showed that in-person trade shows are still an important part of our marketing and sales strategy. We will see you there next year,” said Justin Hopper, Director of Marketing, Nexcomm Systems.

Sensors Converge 2023 will take place June 20-22 at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, California. Get on the list for exclusive offers, show updates and more. For sponsorship opportunities click here.

Questex’s Digital Signage Experience Announces Google Executive to Keynote November Event in Las Vegas

ChromeOS leader Naveen Viswanatha will discuss how to redefine customer experience through modern kiosk and signage solutions

NEW YORK, July 19, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Questex’s Digital Signage Experience (DSE) today announces Naveen Viswanatha, head of product management for ChromeOS at Google will deliver a keynote address at the event, which takes place November 17-19, 2022, at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV. Register here.

Viswanatha’s address, “Redefine Your Customer Experience with Modern Kiosk and Signage Solutions,” is slated for 10:30 a.m. on November 19.

According to the Logicalis 2021 Global CIO Survey, 81% of CIOs believe that redefining the customer and employee experience will become increasingly important in the next five years. However, traditional platforms and legacy solutions struggle to keep up with these rising expectations.

In Viswanatha’s presentation, he will share how cloud-based platforms reduce maintenance requirements and give teams the power to remotely manage any deployed device to deliver seamless experiences. With a comprehensive, fully integrated solution across all devices and peripherals, businesses can become leaders in digital transformation.

“Current kiosk and digital signage solutions are expensive, unreliable, and overly complex, and businesses need technology that modernizes their experience without the difficulties involved in traditional systems,” said Viswanatha. “I look forward to sharing what we’ve learned at Google, built around the end-user computing growth that we have been seeing the last several years.”

“Google is a clear leader in the technology space, and we’re thrilled to have Naveen share his wisdom with our audience,” said David Drain, DSE’s director of event programs. “Google brings a unique viewpoint to the digital signage industry that I am sure many will be interested to hear.”

Viswanatha is a technology leader with over 20 years of industry experience. He currently leads the ChromeOS product and engineering teams focused on key solution areas such as contact centers, virtualization and app streaming, and kiosks in addition to developing the next generation enterprise web platform capabilities. Prior to this role, Viswanatha led the ChromeOS Education team, enabling 45M+ students to utilize Chromebooks in their learning journeys. He was also an early member of the Google Cloud (formerly Enterprise) team and has held positions in product management, partnerships and sales. Prior to Google, Viswanatha worked as an engineer at various startups in the Bay Area.

With MICE Business on the Rise, Questex Brings Together Top Meeting and Incentive Planners With Global Destinations, Tourism Boards and Hotel Groups at a Pivotal Time

NEW YORK, July 05, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Questex’s Global Meeting & Incentive Travel Exchange (GMITE) returned to The Delano Las Vegas this year from June 29 – July 2, 2022, to host one-to-one private suite meetings between a roster of 65 hosted, high-volume North American incentive buyers and meeting planners with a combined purchasing power of $1.5 billion together with 67 global suppliers. The event generated 1,467 face-to-face meetings in just two and half days.

GMITE, the industry’s only hosted buyer event held in private suites, provided the ideal backdrop for solidifying new relationships in a luxurious setting built for relaxed networking, one-to-one meetings, and exceptional education.

The event kicked off with an earnest discussion, “The Great Reimagination: A NEW Business Case for In-Person Experiences,” which was moderated by Jessie States, CMP, CMM, Vice President, MPI Academy. The panel featured two buyers; Rita Malek, Business Development Director, McVeigh Global Meetings and Events and Catherine Jones, Principal, The Edventives Group, and two suppliers; Elisabeth Kinch, Director of National Accounts, Fontainebleau Hotels and Kent Elliott, Director of Destination Global Sales, Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce providing insights into both the supply and demand of the future of MICE business.

“We are thrilled to be back at the Delano with GMITE this year, the original home base for the private, suite meetings,” said Caren Cotto, Event Director. “GMITE is a critical event for the MICE industry to attend as its unique format leverages the most optimal ROI for both parties, when you include the private meetings, multiple networking opportunities and education. There really is nothing else like it in the industry.”

GMITE’s mission is to create unforgettable experiences for attendees, and this year’s featured networking activity was no exception as the group was the first to explore Perception Las Vegas, the Strip’s first state of the art 17,000 square foot digital art museum with its opening exhibition “Leonardo: The Universal Man,” celebrating the life and work of Leonardo da Vinci.

New this year, was a keynote presentation on day two by Stephanie Harris, President, The Incentive Research Foundation, “Hospitality: Incentive Expectations and Reality.” Harris’ presentation shared findings of an inaugural annual survey held in partnership with Questex surrounding the dissonance between service levels at hotels and destinations as well as the expectations of incentive program owners and participants.

An exciting announcement made at the event was the return of Questex’s Caribbean & Mexico Meeting & Incentive Travel Exchange (CMITE), which will be held August 21-24, 2023 at Secrets Wild Orchid & St. James Montego Bay.

“GMITE has been an amazing experience; so much enthusiasm on the part of planners sourcing for 2023 and beyond,” said John Woolcock, Manager, Groups & Conventions, Jamaica Tourist Board. “We have received quite a number of leads so far which is extremely encouraging. As encouraging are the many new planners we’ve met and reconnecting with ones we have not seen in many years. We’re looking forward to hosting CMITE in August next year and to showcasing the many product offerings the island offers for the MICE market.’”

“The experience has been excellent. I like the private suite format, as it is more comfortable and makes it easier to communicate,” said Cindy Hughes, Director, National Accounts, Global Cynergies. “The quality of the suppliers is outstanding as was the breakfast panel discussion and lunch presentation. I’m having productive meetings which makes the time very worthwhile.”

Those interested in becoming a supplier for CMITE or GMITE are encouraged to reach out to Caren Cotto, Event Director, Questex at ccotto@questex.com and those interested in applying as a hosted buyer can contact Andrea Hutchinson, Delegate Relations Director, Questex at ahutchinson@questex.com.

Questex’s Hotec Design Empowers Design Specialists and Top Domestic Suppliers With Knowledge and Connections

NEW YORK, July 01, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Questex’s Hotec Design brought the top hospitality buyers, designers and suppliers together to discover new valued partners to alleviate supply chain issues and get projects back on track quickly. The 2022 event, which took place at The Breakers Palm Beach from June 20th to the 23rd, provided the ideal backdrop for solidifying new relationships in a luxurious setting built for relaxed networking, one-to-one meetings, and exceptional education. The smaller, more intimate environment that Hotec Design provides allows for unparalleled access to decision-makers and targeted networking opportunities to make long-lasting connections that go beyond the typical business relationship.

The event kicked off with an informative keynote, Material Bank: Technology & The Future of Design presented by Farshid Tafazzoli, Co-Founder & CBO of Material Bank. The mission behind all Hotec events is to empower attendees with the latest tools to help them step ahead of the competition and work more efficiently. Tafazzoli shared a new development from Material Bank debuting in September of 2022 that will allow designers to more easily specify products and suppliers to quickly reach hospitality design leaders.

Over the course of three days, Hotec Design brought together 177 attending companies, 85 buyer/designer attendees and 149 supplier attendees, generating nearly 1,700 face-to-face meetings.

From a first-timer’s perspective, Sandi Lesueur, Founder & CVO at Virtu Resorts & Residences, praised its effectiveness in facilitating business. “Hotec was professionally organized and beneficial in bringing together hoteliers with a wide variety of suppliers. The relationships I created will assist Virtu Resorts & Residences Ltd. with the various projects we have ongoing starting in British Columbia, Canada. The beautiful surroundings and friendly staff provided a perfect experience mixing business with fun activities,” she said.

Amy Vaxman, Vice President, Questex Hospitality Group, says, “As we continue to recover as an industry and welcome an uptick in both budgets and projects, I am so excited to bring this vibrant community together for face-to-face meetings. In our inaugural Hotec Buyer Sentiment Assessment, we found that 85% of buyers/designers surveyed saw budgets increase or stay the same in the first half of this year and 78% of buyers are predicting an increase in projects over the next six months. Now is the time to join collectively to rethink and rebuild the guest experience and that starts at Hotec.”

Back by popular demand was the STR Keynote, presented by Vail Ross, Senior VP of Sales & Marketing, diving into US hotel performance and providing a glossy outlook for the future. Ross and STR expect a full recovery in the hotel space, from a RevPAR perspective, in 2024.

The education sessions concluded on day three with a panel focused on creating a more sustainable hospitality industry. ‘Designing for Climate Health & Equity’ brought together leading developers, design firm and hotel owners, and ESG experts to discuss how all members of the design community can make an impact in reducing waste, making the transition to net-zero carbon emissions and more.

Hotec events have become widely known for their interactive networking functions, and this year’s event was no exception. “The power of Hotec Design is in the ability of Mary Malloy and her team to curate an environment where icebreakers lead to genuine human interactions and business decisions. After COVID, we want more than ever to buy from humans and sell to humans. Hotec reminds us all why we love the hospitality industry,” says David Corle, Director of A+D Relations, HMI Glass.

The 2023 edition of Hotec Design will be held at The JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn Resort & Spa from June 19th to the 22nd, 2023.

For those interested in becoming a supplier, please reach out to Mary Malloy, Hotec Global Events Director. For those interested in being considered for a hosted buyer position, please reach out to Maritsa Samonas, Industry Relations Manager.

Questex Reunites Procurement Specialists and Top Domestic Suppliers at Its Hotec Operations Event in Sarasota

Hotec Buyer Sentiment Assessment finds now is the time to collectively rethink and rebuild the guest experience

NEW YORK, June 22, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — After a three-year hiatus, Questex’s Hotec Operations reunited domestic hospitality buyers and suppliers. In response to market conditions and the ever-changing nature of procurement budgets, Questex merged its two U.S. procurement events, Hotec Operations and Hotec Design, into one overarching hosted buyer event, Hotec North America. With travel demand back on the rise and budgets now seeing a healthy readjustment, hospitality buyers must find new valued partners to alleviate supply chain issues and get their projects back on track quickly. The return of Hotec Operations comes at the right time to facilitate this as the industry recovers and prepares for impending growth.

Hotec Operations, which took place at The Ritz-Carlton Sarasota from June 12th to the 15th, provided the ideal backdrop for solidifying new relationships in a luxurious setting built for relaxed networking, one-to-one meetings, and exceptional education.

The event kicked off with an inspirational keynote, Roar into the Second Half of Your Life, presented by Michael Clinton, Former President & Publishing Director, Hearst Magazines. The mission behind all Hotec events is to empower attendees to not just follow the trendlines, but to define them. According to Clinton, the next big social movement to affect everyone is the “New Longevity.” As people live longer, they are redefining life over 50 and are demanding more excitement and Clinton inspired attendees to keep this in mind as they reimagine the future of hospitality.

Over the course of three days, Hotec Operations brought together 100 attending companies, split evenly between buyers and suppliers, generating nearly 1,000 face-to-face meetings.

Amy Vaxman, Vice President, Questex Hospitality Group, says, “As we continue to recover as an industry and welcome an uptick in both budgets and projects, I am so excited to bring this vibrant community together for face-to-face meetings. In our inaugural Hotec Buyer Sentiment Assessment, we found that 85% of buyers surveyed saw budgets increase or stay the same in the first half of this year and 78% of buyers are predicting an increase in projects over the next six months. Now is the time to collectively rethink and rebuild the guest experience and that starts at Hotec.”

Back by popular demand was the STR Keynote, presented by Shawn Grenley, Senior Account Manager, North America, diving into U.S. hotel performance and providing a glossy outlook for the future. Grenley and STR expect a full recovery in the hotel space, from a RevPAR perspective, in 2024.

In addition to providing timely education, Hotec events have become widely known for their immersive networking functions, and this year’s Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville theme was no exception. “Hotec cares so much about supplier and buyers’ relationships. They go above and beyond to make sure lasting connections are made. From the host hotel to the activities presented, Hotec models what excellence looks like. I have established solid relationships with people in this business that are far reaching,” says Kory Davis, Corporate Director of New Builds + Transitions, PM Hotel Group.

Gina McKee, Director of Strategic Sales of Cloudbeds said, “Every time I’ve been to Hotec, I’ve been able to close a deal.”

A recap of the event can be found on www.hotelmanagement.net here.

The 2023 edition of Hotec Operations will be held at The JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn Resort & Spa from June 12th to the 15th, 2023.

For those interested in becoming a supplier, please reach out to Mary Malloy, Hotec Global Events Director. For those interested in being considered for a hosted buyer position, please reach out to Maritsa Samonas, Delegate & Buyer Relations Specialist.
