Questex Postpones the International Hospitality Investment Forum (IHIF); Event Rescheduled for May 2020 in Berlin

NEW YORK, Feb. 28, 2020 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Due to the global concern regarding the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak, Questex today announces it will postpone the International Hospitality Investment Forum (IHIF), the world’s largest and most influential hospitality investment event, and its co-located event Adjacent Spaces@IHIF. The shows were set to take place next week – 2-4 March 2020 – in Berlin Germany and will be moved to the 4-6 of May at the InterContinental Hotel and Pullman hotel respectively.

The health and safety of our attendees is of the utmost importance to Questex. We have been in constant communication with our key partners, sponsors and delegates and it has become clear that the most prudent action for the industry and the greater public health is for us to postpone the event. The hotel investment community has urged us to reschedule the event as soon as possible and the Intercontinental and Pullman hotels in Berlin have been very accommodating.

“This was a very difficult decision as many in the community were asking us to proceed with the show. Ultimately there is no greater importance than the health and safety of our community members and that will always be the guiding principle that drives our business,” said Paul Miller, CEO of Questex.

“We are sorry to disappoint our delegates but their safety and wellbeing, as well as that of our presenters and staff has to come first,” commented Alexi Khajavi, Managing Director EMEA. “We have the support and commitments of our industry partners and IHIF will be back as always better and bigger.”

IHIF connects the ambitious, brave, curious and disruptive professionals that shape the world of hospitality investment globally. During this time of uncertainty, we will ensure that we continue our discussion of the deals and opportunities and continue to connect the community through our digital platforms.

Our heartfelt wishes are with all those impacted across the world.

We will be contacting all delegates for rebooking.

Questex Unveils QBusiness Continuity Center

Turnkey Portal Ensures Business Event and Communications through Interruptions

NEW YORK, Feb. 14, 2020 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Business continuity planning is an imperative business practice for organizations. Business interruptions are difficult – whether they are related to travel disruptions, pandemic viruses (like the Coronavirus), supply chain issues or key employee announcements – and communications are imperative. Questex today unveils a digital platform specifically for business continuity – the QBusiness Continuity Center ensures business communications through business interruptions.

“Business interruptions are challenging for any organization. It’s vital for companies to have a plan in place that guarantees business continuity,” said Paul Miller, CEO of Questex. “The QBusiness Continuity Center provides companies with an online solution that can be used in the event of a business interruption that limits attendees from participating at a live event or to bring a company or a group of individuals within a company together quickly and efficiently. Although not a replacement for live events QBusiness Continuity can help bridge a critical gap.”

Businesses have embraced digital business solutions as effective communication tools for their audience experience, to improve communications and gain a competitive advantage. The QBusiness Continuity Center is a turnkey virtual communications portal that enables businesses to deliver critical communications in a secure, interactive environment. The QBusiness Continuity Center can be functional for any organization to connect and communicate in just days.

Components of the QBusiness Continuity Center include:

  • Webcast, conference capabilities
  • Auditorium with optional group chat and a complete list of upcoming and available presentations
  • Resource Library that hosts relevant materials such as presentation slides and supplemental material all in one location
  • Group chat, one-to-one chats, surveys and polls

The QBusiness Continuity Center offers scale for an organization of any size and complexity and can be created for both large and small events. The platform is easy to use and does not require a download – all audiences are able to access the platform through a web browser and the Internet. Access is security-controlled, ensuring that only registered attendees are able to participate.

“Questex’s Technology, Media, and Telecom group is excited to quickly take advantage of this new platform by launching 5G BLITZ Week for our FierceWireless community during the week of March 23,” Kevin Gray, Vice President of Questex’s Technology, Media, and Telecom commented. “As a part of this, we’ll be putting together a multitude of virtual panels, fireside chats, and interviews throughout the week, all complemented with special reports on 5G across our industry leading sites. At such a critical time in the development of next generation wireless networks, it’s imperative that our community is able to access additional education from industry leaders in the unfortunate coronavirus enforced absence of Mobile World Congress this year.”

Questex’s Global Meeting & Incentive Travel Exchange Keynote to Share the Biggest Disruptors Facing the Travel Industry in Arizona This Spring

NEW YORK, Feb. 05, 2020 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Questex’s 15th Annual Global Meeting & Incentive Travel Exchange (GMITE), which connects the largest selection of meeting and incentive travel buyers with global suppliers, today announces Stephanie Harris, President of the Incentive Research Foundation (IRF), will present the keynote address. GMITE will take place at the Arizona Grand Resort & Spa in Phoenix, Arizona, April 29 – May 2, 2020.

‘Disasters, Regulations and the Environment: What’s Disrupting Incentive Travel Today,’ will be the topic of Harris’ keynote, culled from the findings of the foundation’s new research study, scheduled to be released in May 2020. The study explores the biggest disruptors facing the industry today and the risks associated with this disruption; from flight shaming to traveler safety concerns to the impact of growing loyalty. Attendees will also learn about best practices from planners and suppliers for minimizing impact to their programs and on attendees.

As President of the IRF, Harris directs the efforts of the foundation, an organization that funds and promotes research to increase the understanding, effective use, and benefits of non-cash incentives to businesses globally. Her stellar career is exemplified by her leadership roles at American Express Meetings & Events and at Maritz as well as her service on the Meeting Professionals International Foundation Board and the Travel + Leisure Business Travel Advisory Board. Currently, she represents the IRF on the Events Industry Council and serves on the Incentive Federation Board of Directors.

“We are thrilled that Stephanie will share the findings of this very important research with our event attendees,” said Jill Birkett, Event Director. “At GMITE we strive to deliver the most relevant and cutting-edge content that allows them to do their work more effectively.”

“This is the best show for the meetings industry in the Americas. Excellent service, organization, concept, qualified buyers and lots of leads in my business bag,” said Ninoslav Vidovic, Cluster Director of Sales, Hilton Prague.

Held in partnership with SITE, the Society for Incentive Travel Excellence, GMITE brings fully hosted, high-volume North American incentive buyers and meeting planners who have a combined purchasing power of $1.5 billion, together with global suppliers for two and a half days of exclusive networking opportunities and pre-scheduled one-to-one meetings in private, luxury suites.
